Fritz Hansen buys manufacturing facility in Rawicz

Fritz Hansen Production, a Danish manufacturer of furniture, has completed the purchase of a manufacturing facility in Rawicz from SEWS Polska. Cushman & Wakefield, a leading global real estate services firm, has represented the owner of the property in the negotiations.

Established in 1872, Fritz Hansen is a Danish manufacturer of exclusive furniture, recognised by its high quality products produced through collaboration with renowned architects and designers including Arne Jacobsen, Poul Kjærholm, Hans J. Wegner and Piet Hein.

SEWS (Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems) is a global company and major supplier of automotive wiring harnesses to the European automotive industry. In Rawicz the company operated between 2000-2009.

The subject property is a site of above 3 ha with an 8.300 sq m production and warehouse facility including social and office area. Fritz Hansen is planning to launch production in 2013. The relocation of production and technology is to complete in 2014. The Danish company intends to create 50 new jobs in Rawicz.

The new manufacturing facility in Poland will produce chairs from the Stacking collection comprising Series 7™, Ant™, Grand Prix™ and Lily™, designed by a renowned Danish designer Arne Jacobsen in 1950-1970.
