Cushman & Wakefield, the manager of Metropolitan, one of the most prestigious office buildings in Poland, organises regular run sessions for the tenants. The ambassador of the event is a well-known Polish athlete Mariusz Giżyński.
The first training session of the project called „Run Metropolitan” was held on 27 June. The run sessions take place once a week from 27 June to 3 October near Metropolitan building, at the Piłsudskiego square and in the Saski Garden. After registering on the official website each employee of the building’s tenants can join the event.
The ambassador of the project, Mariusz Giżyński, is a leading Polish marathon runner with his life record of 2:11:20 h. He is a participant of the European Athletic Championship in Barcelona, a multiple medalist of the Polish Championship in long distance running, including the Polish Champion in half marathon and Vice-champion on the marathon distance. Mariusz is a multiple winner in the major Polish street runs such as the Warsaw Uprising Run, the Independence Run or the Constitution of May 3 Run.
„»Run Metropolitan« is a unique running initiative for amateur runners and outdoor enthusiasts. It offers a running training programme for 5 km and 10 km runs. At the end of July the programme’s participants will take part in the 5 km Warsaw Uprising Run. Mariusz Giżyński will lead through running sessions two times a month. At other times trainings are led by experienced trainers of the Warsaw Running Routes, with some meetings featuring also dietetics and physiotherapy experts” – says Aneta Rogowicz-Gała, head of Property & Asset Department of Cushman & Wakefield.

“Run Metropolitan” is another initiative of the Property & Asset Department of Cushman & Wakefield directed to the tenants of Metropolitan. This year, on the first day of spring the company organised e-waste collection together with Stena Recycling. In addition, in March 2013 r. office managers of companies leasing office space managed by C&W, including Metropolitan, received “Green Guide” which gives practical advice on how to improve ecological efficiency of offices.
Metropolitan is located at the Piłsudskiego Square in Warsaw. It was built in 2003 according to the design of Sir Norman Foster. The building received many prestigious awards (Best Office Building Award at MIPIM in Cannes, RIBA Worldwide Award). In April 2013 it received “Very Good” rating in BREEAM In-Use certification system. Metropolitan offers 38,000 sq m of leasable space. The scheme was developed by Hines. The owner is Aberdeen Asset Management Deutschland AG, the real estate investment company. Cushman & Wakefield has managed the building since 2006.
