Polish retailer of consumer electronics Media Expert has leased 820 sq m of retail space in Galeria Naptun, being currently built in Starogard Gdański. The opening is scheduled for November 2014. A leading global real estate services firm, Cushman & Wakefield, the property’s exclusive letting agent, represented a developer in the negotiations.

Galeria Neptun is being developed on the site of the former footwear manufacturer “Neptun” at the junction of Pomorska and Jana Pawła II streets, in the centre of Starogard Gdański. The gallery will provide a total of around 24,000 sq m of leasable area. It has the catchment area of around 195,000 people.

“We believe that the project’s design perfectly suits the needs of the local retail market, which is evidenced by new large and renowned tenants setting up shops in the centre. The letting process and all works are on schedule. To date 72% of reinforced concrete works have been completed and now we are in the process of installing water and sanitary sewer systems” – said Władysław Gabryniewski, Project Manager at Galeria Neptun Sp. z o.o. Sp.k.

“Consumer electronics and appliances retailers are important tenants in large-scale retail facilities. We are pleased to have been able to secure Media Expert for the centre. It is a recognized chain, strong in particular on local markets. Apart from multiplex and supermarket operator as well as two fashion retailers, Media Expert is currently the largest tenant present in Galeria Neptun. The centre, one year before opening, is approx. 56% let (lease agreements and letters of intent). Negotiations for another 25% of space are underway” – said Marek Noetzel, Partner, retail department at Cushman & Wakefield.

Other tenants in Galeria Neptun include: Intermarche, CCC and LPP S.A.’s brands: Reserved, Sinsay, Mohito, House and Cropp. The scheme will also feature the second large scale fashion tenant and Cinema City’s 6-screen multiplex.

The developer of the scheme is Galeria Neptun Sp. z o.o. Sp. k. and the general contractor, Dekpol Sp. z o.o. Detailed information on the scheme can be found at:
