On February 26, 2015, TK Maxx will open Silesia’s largest store in Galeria Katowicka, offering top name designer labels at discounted prices. The store will offer the full range including: womenswear, menswear, kidswear, shoes, accessories and home décor items – all up to 60% off regular prices in Poland and worldwide.
TK Maxx, a growing European division of TJX Companies, Inc (USA), has chosen the regions capital Katowice’s Galeria Katowicka to open its 27th Polish store. The unit, located at level -1, in an area of 2,000 m2, makes it one of the mall’s largest, taking occupancy levels up to 95%.
“We are pleased that Galeria Katowicka will host the first TK Maxx store in the Upper Silesian capital. Customer research has shown that a lot of people have been waiting for this brand,” says Marta Wybrańska, International Leasing Directorat Neinver.
TK Maxx is a designer brands-for-less retailer implementing a unique “off-price” concept. Unlike other stores, TK Maxx updates its stock several times a week. Opportunistic buying and a no frills operation means TK Maxx can pass huge savings onto the customer.
Mark Gamble, Meyer Bergman’s Head of Asset Management, said: “TK Maxx’s decision to open shows how Galeria Katowicka has become the go-to location in Silesia for leading European retailers. The centre is performing successfully one year after it opened, with sales and footfall increasing, which in turn is attracting interest from more retailers.”
TK Maxx at Galeria Katowicka will open on 26th February, joining 250 tenants, including brands which are not available anywhere else in the region, such as Estee Lauder, M.A.C., Peek & Cloppenburg along with global brands; Zara, Pull & Bear, Bershka, Nike, Mango and Massimo Dutti. The centre generates a footfall of approx. 1 million visits a month.
Marek Noetzel, Partner and Head of Retail Department in Cushman & Wakefield, said: “TK Maxx’s decision to open its store in Galeria Katowicka shows growing importance of the scheme on the retail map of the Silesia region. This transaction will further widen the offer of Galeria Katowicka. I am convinced that the tenant-landlord cooperation will be running smoothly.”
The property is owned by Meyer Bergman, in a partnership with Neinver and Polish State Railways (PKP). Cushman & Wakefield is the sole agent responsible for leasing retail space in Galeria Katowicka.
