Akamai has renegotiated and expanded its lease by taking up 7,500 sq m in the Vinci Office Center in Krakow. The tenant was represented in the renegotiations by the global real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield.
Akamai Technologies, Inc. is one of the world’s leading IT companies providing content delivery network (CDN) and cloud computing services for making the Internet fast, reliable and secure. The company was founded in the United States in 1998. It now operates servers in 116 countries across the globe, serving approximately 30% of all web traffic. In 2011, Akamai opened its 900 sq m principal European technology centre in Krakow only to expand it to 1,400 sq m two years later. In 2015, the company decided to take up much more space in what was last year’s fifth largest lease in Krakow. Eventually it will occupy 7,500 sq m of office space.

The Vinci Office Center is a modern Class A office building delivered in 2010. It has fourteen storeys, including two underground levels, offering 28,000 of leasable office space. The building boasts state-of-the-art telecommunications and security systems ensuring top quality services for its tenants. In 2011, the Vinci Office Center received an award in the public building category of the BUILDING OF THE YEAR 2010 competition from the Minister of Infrastructure and the Polish Association of Civil Engineers and Technicians (PZITB).
