The commercial property market is showing an increased trend towards sustainable building construction. Green certificates are awarded to promote building occupier and environment friendly space using state-of-the-art technological solutions, top quality materials and the best property management practices. Benefits resulting from certification and implementation of sustainable solutions are also appreciated by real estate investors.
BREEAM is one of the most popular methods for quality assessment of commercial buildings both in Europe and in the world. BREEAM IN-USE is a certification scheme for the assessment of buildings throughout the operational stages of their lifecycle against its sustainability criteria. It offers six certification ratings: acceptable, pass, good, very good, excellent and outstanding, depending on the number of points scored in a series of categories such as: management, health and wellbeing, energy, transport, materials, land use and ecology, pollution, water and waste. Certification in the BREEAM IN-USE system by Cushman & Wakefield's in-house Assessor extends its offer of services related to sustainable building solutions.
Grzegorz Dąbrowski joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2012. He graduated from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Białystok University of Technology and completed post-graduate studies in Real Estate Management and Valuation at the Warsaw University of Technology.
